Kannada film actress Ramya's actual name is Divya Spandana.

RAMYA
She was born on 29 November 1982 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. After finishing schooling from St. Hilda's school in Ooty, Tamil Nadu, She joined St. Joseph's College of Commerce, Bangalore for graduation. Since her childhood she was interested in acting and dancing.

Abhi(2003) is her debut film where she appeared opposite actor Puneet Rajkumar. After this she was seen playing the lead role in various other Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films also. In 2006 she received Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Thananam Thananam and was also nominated for Mussanjemaatu by Mahesh.

In 2007 Ramya appeared alongside Puneet Rajkumar and Meera Jasmine in the superhit film Arasu. Divya entered in to the Tamil film industry with Kuththu opposite actor Silambarasan.

Blockbuster hit Polladhavan by Vetrimaran gave her the recognition in Tamil films. Actor Dhanush was her co star in this film. Divya was also seen opposite Surya Sivakumar in Gautham Menon's Vaaranam Aayiram.Thoondil, Meravanige, Spandana Bombaat, Anthu Inthu Preethi Banthu were some of her releases in 2008.

Divya has acted opposite actor Jeeva in Singam Puli, Sathya in Kadhal 2 Kalyanam, Sudeep in Kicha-Hucha, Mussanjemaatu and Just Math Mathalli and with Srinagar Kitty in Sanju Weds Geetha. Naanu Nanna Kanasoo with Prakash Raj is going to be her next release.
